Hi! Long time no see.
Life update: I have decided to take a break from KDE development due to many reasons; mostly, I was burning out.
Therefore, I decided to spend more time writing articles and making videos! I decided to do "Advent of Nicco", publishing one video every day until the 24th. There are a lot of articles to read, all linked from this email!
However, this means that the channel and this website are now my only source of income. Look at the articles here and, if you haven't already, please consider subscribing as a paying subscriber. You get a few perks (a couple of interviews and team meetings), and - most importantly - you make sure that I can keep doing this!
In all honesty, if I'm unable to raise the amount of donations I receive, I'm not sure I'll be able to go on with articles and videos only; I'll have to find some other work to do, and that will again cut down on the time I have to write articles. So, any help is welcome!
Firstly, here's an in-depth article about Chat Control, featuring a Member of the European Parliament. I'm particularly proud of this piece, as I believe it's the only one out there attempting to give some technical and legislative background behind it.

Then, here's a quick opinion piece about how YouTube is currently a monopoly. PeerTube and similar open-source alternatives are often described as, well, alternatives to YouTube, but they aren't. They are fundamentally different products.

Then, a couple of articles about AI. One is by a new collaborator of LibreNews, and it talks about the consequences of AI on scientific research. Give him a warm welcome!

Finally, there's one about me about how Linux and other open-source projects are dealing with AI. It talks about the Linux kernel, the Linux Foundation, Firefox, KDE and GNOME, and more!

I've already sent this article as a newsletter, but I'm particularly happy about it so allow me to link it here again: here's an in-depth opinion piece about DHH, the man who made Frameworks suddenly controversial!

And that's all! Again, thanks to everyone for subscribing to this newsletter. I hope I'll be able to continue providing interesting content! Let me know if you have suggestions or requests.
And, with the goal of full transparency, here's how the Advent of Nicco initiative to gain paying subscribers is going (we gained 7 subs, 1.1666 per day):

See you next week!
